Since touching down in Sydney to work on his latest role in the film Gods of Egypt, Gerard Butler has been quite the man about town.
And on Sunday he decided to take to the streets on a motorbike and show off his physique as he got to grips with the city he is calling home for the next few months.
The 44-year-old is currently Down Under shooting the big budget blockbuster that's set to hit screens in 2016.
Butler arrived three and a half weeks before the film started production so he could immerse himself in the dialect of his role as well as get physically and mentally ready for the part.
His prep is clearly paying off and the actor showed off his bulging biceps and broad shoulders underneath a maroon sweatshirt that clung to his body as he rode around the CBD.
Gerard was protected by a thick black helmet and sunglasses, but that's where his biker attire ended, as he donned grey cargo pants and sneakers to complete a casual outfit.
The actor plays Set, the God of Chaos in the movie which is being directed by I, Robot's Alex Proyas.
Butler says the film it is one of the biggest productions he has ever been involved in: 'It’s the largest budget movie I have ever worked on. It’s huge in every dimension. It’s huge in its scope. And it’s story. And visually...Everything about the movie feels bang on.'
The actor spent time getting some culture under his belt on Saturday at a performance of Madama Butterfly by the Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour.
The production is quite the spectacle, taking place on a 1276sq m set designed by Spanish theatre group La Fura dels Baus.
The stage features an inflatable 12-metre sun, a six-metre moon, a Japanese bamboo forest, two working cars, two cranes, a live orchestra and a firework display – the production costs about $10million a year to stage.
Butler wasn't the only celebrity to watch the production over the weekend, as the likes of Ita Buttrose,Tyler Atkins, Demi Harman, and Hayley Hasselhoff attended the festivities.
The actor has been making himself at home since his arrival in the harbour city.
He has spent the evening socialising with a bevvy of beauties in an Eastern Suburb bar and managed to gate crash a hens party.
Dragana Ogorelica, a close friend of the bride, said they got the shock of their lives when they saw the 300 star standing on the boat they hired for the day.
