The Notable Films of 2011: Part Nine
By Garth Franklin Monday January 17th 2011 12:39PM

Movie 43

Opens: 2011

Cast: Too Many To Name

Director: Too Many To Name

Summary: An anthology comedy made up of several different short film sketches linked by a common unifying thread.

Analysis: A huge number of big stars are coming together for this R-rated anthology movie made up of short stand alone segments - think along the lines of 1970's comedies like "Kentucky Fried Movie" or dramas like "Coffee and Cigarettes" and "Paris, je t’aime". Originally set up at Overture Films, that company dumped it which lead to Relativity Media picking it up (shortly after Relativity bought Overture Films themselves), and a meeting with producers led to a revamp of the central premise.
There will apparently be a unifying storyline for this series of sketches, though details on what that is hasn't been revealed yet. What details have leaked indicate the segments really don't seem to have a common unifying thread.

One sketch has Gerard Butler as a perverse and foul-mouthed leprechaun kidnapped by Johnny Knoxville and Seann William Scott who want to steal his pot of gold.

Hugh Jackman and Kate Winslet shot their segment entitled "The Catch" in just one day in New York City with Peter Farrelly directing. Halle Berry was spotted donning a giant pair of prosthetic lips for her segment "Truth or Dare" which is apparently about "a career driven woman who is set up to take the fall for corporate embezzlement after her sexy college friend from Las Vegas drops back into her life". Not sure how the big lips fit in with that description.

Another sketch is "Robin's Big Speed Date", a follow-up to the 2006 comedy short "Robin's Big Date" in which Batman's sidekick Robin (Justin Long) tries to go on a date without The Bat-Man (Sam Rockwell) tagging along and ruining the evening. Long will reprise his role though Rockwell couldn't fit it into his schedule so Jason Sudeikis will play Batman. The same short also has Bobby Cannavale as Superman, Uma Thurman as Lois Lane, Kristen Bell as Supergirl, Leslie Bibb as Wonder Woman and John Hodgman as The Penguin.

At current reports, other cast members include Elizabeth Banks, Jimmy Bennett, Leslie Bibb, Kate Bosworth, Kieran Culkin, Josh Duhamel, Anna Faris, Richard Gere, Aasif Mandvi, Stephen Merchant, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Chloë Moretz, Liev Schreiber, Tony Shalhoub, Emma Stone, Patrick Warburton, Naomi Watts, and even Snooki from "Jersey Shore".

The director's list is also suitable impressive including Elizabeth Banks, Steven Brill, Steve Carr, Rusty Cundieff, James Duffy, Griffin Dunne, Patrik Forsberg, James Gunn, Bob Odenkirk and Brett Ratner. No specific release date has yet been set, though there's talk of a late Summer bow.

La Relativity Media ha spostato Movie 43 al 2012...

Relativity Media Sets Release Dates for Untitled Raven Project and Untitled Farrelly/Wessler Comedy
by Matt Goldberg Posted:May 3rd, 2011 at 2:36 pm

Two upcoming Relativity Media films may not have titles, but they now have release dates. First up, James McTeigue’s Untitled Raven Project (previously titled The Raven) will open on March 9, 2012. Per the press release, “The film is a gritty thriller in which Edgar Allan Poe (John Cusack) joins forces with a young Baltimore detective (Luke Evans) to hunt down a mad serial killer who’s using Poe’s own works as the basis in a string of brutal murders.” The untitled movie also stars Alice Eve, Brendan Gleeson, and Oliver Jackson-Cohen.

Relativity has also set the date for the Untitled Farrelly/Wessler Comedy that has an absolutely ridiculous cast starring in a series of interconnected stories. Just some of the names on board include Johnny Knoxville, Gerard Butler, Anna Faris, Seann Hugh Jackman, Richard Gere, Uma Thurman, Halle Berry, Emma Stone, Naomi Watts, Kate Winslet, Terrence Howard, Liev Schreiber, Elizabeth Banks, Justin Long, Kristen Bell, Chloe Grace Moretz, and Stephen Merchant. Hit the jump for the full press release.

Here’s the press release, which includes the full bonkers cast list for the Farrelly/Wessler comedy:

Relativity Media continued to build its 2012 release slate today, announcing it will release the Untitled Raven Project, directed by James McTeigue (V for Vendetta) and starring John Cusack (Being John Malkovich) on March 9, 2012 and the Untitled Farrelly/Wessler Comedy on April 13, 2012. These two films join previously announced thriller, House at the End of the Street, which is set to hit theaters next Spring on February 3, 2012.

The Untitled Raven Project also stars Luke Evans (Immortals, Clash of the Titans), Alice Eve (Sex and the City 2), Brendan Gleeson (Harry Potter Series) and Oliver Jackson-Cohen (Faster). The script was written by Ben Livingston (Bruce Almighty) and Hannah Shakespeare (Loverboy).

The film is a gritty thriller in which Edgar Allan Poe (Cusack) joins forces with a young Baltimore detective (Evans) to hunt down a mad serial killer who’s using Poe’s own works as the basis in a string of brutal murders.

Trevor Macy and Marc D. Evans are producing for Intrepid Pictures, alongside Aaron Ryder for FilmNation Entertainment, who brought the project to Intrepid. Galavis Films’ Jesus Martinez is executive producing. FilmNation is selling international distribution rights to the film.

Following in April, comes the Untitled Farrelly/Wessler Comedy which boasts the greatest cast ever assembled in the most dangerous comedy ever made. The star-studded cast includes Johnny Knoxville, Gerard Butler, Anna Faris, Seann William Scott, Hugh Jackman, Richard Gere, Uma Thurman, Halle Berry, Emma Stone, Naomi Watts, Kate Bosworth, Kate Winslet, Terrence Howard, Liev Schreiber, Elizabeth Banks, Justin Long, Kristen Bell, Patrick Warburton, Josh Duhamel, Jason Sudeikis, Chloe Grace Moretz, Stephen Merchant, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Jack McBrayer, Kieran Culkin and Chris Pratt in a series of interconnected stories, each one more outrageous than the last.

The film is being produced by Peter Farrelly (Something About Mary), Charles Wessler (Dumb & Dumber), GreeneStreet Films’ John Penotti (In the Bedroom) and Relativity Media’s Ryan Kavanaugh (Immortals). Executive producers are Tim Williams (Swimfan) of GreeneStreet Films and Tucker Tooley (Immortals) of Relativity Media. Co-producers are Tom Gormican and Marc Ambrose. Rocky Russo and Jeremy Sosenko also serve as associate producers.

Relativity currently has the box office hit Limitless in theaters. Looking ahead, Relativity will release Judy Moody and the NOT Bummer Summer based on the popular kids book series on June 10th, 2011, followed by David Ellis’ Shark

Bob Bekian and Brett Ratner Co-Produce Gerard Butler in New Peter Farrelly Sketch
Gerard Butler plays a "perverse leprechaun" in Peter Farrelly's newest comedy sketch, "Happy Birthday."

Gerard Butler and Brett Ratner

"The creativity in the studio was unbelievable."
Santa Monica, CA (PRWEB) May 14, 2011

Of all the roles Gerard Butler has done, this one seemed to be one of the more entertaining both for him, and for the crew. Peter Farrelly has gathered together a group of A-List actors including Hugh Jackman, Kate Winslet, Naomi Watts, and Gerard Butler for his newest sketch-comedy film. The film entitled "Happy Birthday" was co-Produced by Bob Bekian of Loyal Studios.
Butler donned a green screen shirt, leaving only his head visible with wild hair and make-up applications in order to play the role of a leprechaun. "I play the most perverse, disturbing, disgusting, foul-mouthed leprechaun you could ever imagine," Butler comments. For the ripped star of "300" and "Gamer," getting into the role meant getting into the body of someone else --literally. The greenscreen technology utilized for "Benjamin Button" was applied in this shoot in order to place Butler's head onto the body of a very talented little person.
Butler remained on set for the entire multi-hour shoot and was a consummate professional, keeping up the spirits of the cast and crew by cracking jokes and having a good time. "Gerard Butler is a real pro," says Bekian, "and this project brought together an incredible cast and crew." With Greg Nicotero of KNB effects working his magic with make-up, and Brett Ratner directing, the creativity in the studio was unbelievable."
The production was shot with the Panavision Genesis system.
"The genesis is a system developed Between Panavision and SONY to record onto the SONY HDSR tape, which we recorded through a set up with a live greenscreen composite system," Bekian adds. The cameras and technical support were provided by Pro HD Rentals of Burbank, CA, which set up the entire technical configuration in conjunction with Loyal Studios pre-lit facilities in Santa Monica.

Sinceramente? :rolleye.gif:

Sono basita! :rabbia6.gif:
:rabbia.gif:
