‘Motor City’, starring Gerard Butler, will begin filming in Atlanta next month

A recent crew call for the upcoming movie Motor City confirms it won’t be filmed in The Motor City at all.

According to a recent posting on Georgia.org, Motor City will shoot in Atlanta from mid-September to early November.

Motor City stars Gerard Butler as an ex-convict tracking down the people who framed him to get revenge. Mickey Rourke is also in talks to star.


CL Casting is currently casting extras for the movie too. They recently posted a casting call looking for “males with longer hair.” You can check out all of their casting calls on Facebook.

Motor City won’t be the only high profile movie filming in Atlanta this fall. The Huger Games sequel, Catching Fire, will also begin shooting in Atlanta next month.

Thesp to star opposite Gerard Butler in Dark Castle thriller

Adrien Brody is in negotiations to play the villain in Dark Castle's "Motor City" starring Gerard Butler.
Brody is replacing Gary Oldman who was originally on board to play the villain in the thriller, to be helmed by Albert Hughes.

The film follows a felon who, after being released from prison, begins tracking down the men who framed him. Chad St. John penned the script.

Joel Silver is producing through his Dark Castle shingle along with Andrew Rona, Ethan Erwin, Randall Emmett and George Furla. Dark Castle's Steve Richards is exec producing.

Brody was most recently seen in Sony Classics' "Midnight in Paris."

Production starts Sept. 17 in Atlanta. Warner Bros. will release the film in April.

Dark Castle also has "Bullet to the Head" coming out in February through Warner Bros.

Brody is repped by Paradigm.

Con tutto il rispetto per Brody , Gary Oldman è tutta un'altra cosa , ma forse sono condizionata dal fatto che Oldman ha un sacco di esperienza come " cattivo" , ruolo in cui indubbiamente eccelle ..

Brody con la sua faccia "tragica" nel ruolo del cattivo mah ,ce lo vedete?

Certo potrebbe anche sorprenderci tutti !

Un fatto assolutamente positivo è che lui e Gerry sono "amiconi" e quindi dovrebbe instaurarsi un bel feeling

Fonte: Variety Dopo settimane di stasi, riprende il casting di Motor City, il film di Albert Hughes funestato da continue defezioni: Gary Oldman e Amber Heard infatti sono stati legati alla produzione per mesi, per poi lasciare, mentre la scelta definitiva su Gerard Butler come protagonista è arrivata solo dopo che Chris Evans, Dominic Cooper, Jake Gyllenhaal e Jeremy Renner hanno dovuto rifiutare di far parte del cast.
Oggi Variety rivela che il ruolo che doveva essere interpretato da Oldman, che ha lasciato il film a causa di altri impegni professionali, verrà interpretato da Adrien Brody.

Brody, il cui ultimo film risale a Midnight in Paris, interpreterà un veterano divenuto boss, che si scontra con il protagonista Gerard Butler, un ex detenuto in cerca di vendetta nei confronti di quelli che lo hanno incastrato.

Le riprese inizieranno, finalmente, il mese prossimo ad Atlanta. Prodotto dalla Dark Castle e distribuito dalla Warner Bros, il film si baserà su uno script di Chad St. John, con Joel Silver e Andrew Rona a produrre e Douglas Urbanski e Ethan Erwin come produttori esecutivi.

Che peccato...

Se il problema è davvero solo la data di consegna del film può darsi che la Emmet Furla Films, che produce la pellicola, rinegozierà l'uscita e potrà riprendere in mano il progetto con un altro studio a distribuire al posto della Warner. Tutto è possibile a Hollywood
Il fatto che fossero a buon punto coi preparativi delle riprese mi fa pensare che sarebbe un vero spreco di denaro non portare avanti un progetto per il quale erano già stati spesi dei capitali e che si era già portato in prevendita nientemeno che al film market di Cannes...
Mah...
